Water Birth Pools

For mums choosing water birth, you can buy and hire water birth pools online.

Click the links below to visit the websites on suppliers of Water Birth Pools

Water birth pools are proven to make labour shorter and more comfortable, there are a number of companies who both sell and rent pools for home births.   They are extremely relaxing and a useful tool to aid the management of pain in a natural way.  They can be used alongside other pain management techniques such as reflexology, hypnosis or acupuncture.   For your baby, a water birth pool can be a more gentle  introduction to the world.

Your idea of a perfect water birth may not square up with the practical realities. For a variety of reasons you may not use the pool at all, or use it for only some of the labour with the actual birth taking place on “dry land”.  It is important to be open-minded about how the birth process may progress.   There may be certain situations where your midwife advises you to leave the pool.

Once installed, your water pool,  can also be used in the days leading up to the birth to provide additional relaxation time, the heat of the water is regulated by a thermostat to sustain the perfect temperature.

The suppliers of water pools, whether hiring or buying, will provide all the information you need and of course you will work in conjunction with your midwife in terms of for example, the best time to enter the pool.  The Royal College of Midwives clearly states that midwives should be familiar with water birth pools and able to offer it as part of normal practice.

Pools come in sections and are easy to assemble and install, bear in mind that your midwife will want good access all the way around the pool.
