Keeping Britain Buzzing with the Soil Association
Keeping Britain Buzzing - The Soil Association Campaign
Our bees, pollinators and other wildlife are under threat with their numbers declining. There is strong evidence that neonicotinoid pesticides are involved in the deaths and that they are impacting on other species such as birds, earthworms and aquatic insects too.
Another major factor is intensive agriculture contributing to a loss of habitat and food. Organic farming on the other hand encourages higher levels of wildlife – including bees.
The Soil Association campaigns to tackle these problems and to work with all farmers to help save our precious wildlife:
We want to stop the temporary EU ban on three neonicotinoid pesticides being overturned
We are campaigning for a permanent ban on all neonicotinoid pesticides
We are working with farmers on the practical solutions to reduce pesticide use, to promote organic methods and the huge benefits to wildlife they can bring.
We are calling on the public to support wildlife-friendly organic food and farming through their everyday shopping choices.
Take action and join us to Keep Britain Buzzing!
The temporary EU ban on neonicotinoid pesticides is looking like a fragile barrier against the political and financial muscle of the chemical companies. We are now facing one of the biggest challenges to ensure the protection of our wildlife; we must act now to tackle neonicotinoid pesticides for good. To do this we need the support of as many members as possible.
Please take action and join the Soil Association today, your support will help us to stop wildlife-damaging pesticides for good.
