Protect Your Rights to Take Natural Supplements

The Alliance for Natural Health (ANH) is a UK-based, pan-European and international not-for-profit campaign organisation working to protect and promote natural health care through the use of ‘good science and good law’.  Three of the greatest threats to natural health care include EU and international regulatory challenges, misrepresentation of the science on natural products through the media and a general lack of acceptance of the use of natural products for health care in large sectors of the orthodox medical community

The health of our children is perhaps one of the most important issues facing society today. Environmental damage, pesticides, additives in food, pollution, soil erosion, mineral deficiencies and other factors are all combining to seriously affect the lives of future generations.

This section of the directory covers areas of particular interest for mums and young children such as natural nappies, organic clothing, organic baby food and green toys.   However, please explore other sections within Natural Matters to find a range of natural products for you and your family.   Click the links on the left or use the Quick Navigation to go to other areas of the directory.

Our children are exposed to toxic chemicals through every step of their young lives. Nonylphenol - thought to interfere with human DNA and effect sperm production in mammals, was found in Disney branded pyjamas.  In tests carried out by Grenepeace, any children's clothes contained  phthalates, found to  cause liver, kidney and testicular damage.   Baby care products described as "kind and gentle" in fact  often contain a vast array of chemicals, drying agents, surfactants, synthetic moisturisers, animal fats and even known carcinogens.   Disposable nappies contain trace amounts of the carcinogen Dioxin, as well as large amounts of chemicals for absorbency and perfumes.  Even our children's toys contain toxic phthalates and other chemicals.

The only way to protect our children and the environment is to use natural, organic products and the Natural Matters directory will put you in touch with a range of suppliers who sell safe products for babies and young children.

We recommend a visit to The Mother Magazine, published 4 times a year "The Mother is an international magazine of fertility awareness, conscious conception, peaceful pregnancy, sacred birth, extended breastfeeding, natural immunity and attachment parenting." - Veronika Robinson (Editor)

Children's food has more additives, colourings and flavour enhancers than any others, many have been proven to have significant health risks. Some E numbers are proven to cause temper tantrums and disruptive behaviour, additives have been linked to allergic reactions, trans fats cause heart problems, and many additives are proven to cause cancer in animals yet are considered safe for our children.

The Feed Me Better campaign came about after the making of the series Jamie's School Dinners on Channel 4, a shocking programme that highlighted the nutritional deficiences of the food served to children in schools.  The campaign is aiming to radically change the school meals system. http://www.feedmebetter.com
