Daoyin Tao

Daoyin Tao (pronounced DOW YIN TOW) combines ancient  Chinese and modern Western techniques; it is a gentle and subtle therapy that focuses on the face, neck, shoulders and scalp (optional), some practitioners also use essential oils.   It is a gentle flowing massage that works on the meridian points and releases trapped and stagnant energy.    It is a holistic therapy that will have an impact in those areas that need it and stimulates the bodys own ability to heal.    Daoyin Tao creates a feeling of deep relaxation and has a rebalancing and rejuvenating effect it is excellent for stress, tension, aches and pains and for all secondary conditions.

The principles are based on techniques used in hospitals all over China although the Western Adaptation is a relatively new therapy, it was officially recognised by the Guild of Complementary Practitioners  in 2002. A detailed case history will be taken prior to treatment so that the massage can be tailored for your particular needs, the massage will last around 30 minutes and it is usual to have a course of 6 treatments for maximum benefit.

Use our online directory to find Daoyin Tao therapists in your town or county using the search box at the top of the page.
