The new "E-Cigs" are of great concern. Make no mistake, they're untested and pose their own risks. Marketed as a glamorous solution. They are not.
Swapping one addiction for another may have benefits of course in the short term. But a clear cut decision has even greater value. And if you have really, truly made that decision, then no patch is required. We are conditioned that stopping smoking is difficult. But it can be easy, and joyful IF you allow it to be. That is in no way to diminish the magnitude of the moment. But make a real decision on anything in life, and you won't look back, why would you?
And with the right mind set, many find they experience, little if any physical symptoms. It gets you to frame smoking the right way to literally just stop and to feel good about doing so.
Nutrition for Stopping
The sooner you can flush nicotine out of your system the better. The longest it takes is 72hrs, nutritional support in these early stages is only going to help. The physical changes after this take longer to work through of course, for example the improvements in breathing will continue for months, but you will only feel better as each day passes.
Make sure you drink plenty of water. Add fresh lemon juice or lemon and ginger tea to cleanse even more thoroughly. More on this here.
Eat well, and enjoy your food. Add some oats for breakfast. Lots of fresh fish and dark green vegetables will definitely help.
