What is Japanese Water Therapy?
We all know water is essential for good health. And it makes sense when you consider we are around 60 - 70% water in an adult. This declines as we age.
But how many of us drink JUST water first thing in the morning? Most start with tea or coffee.
But one simple change to your routine could yield amazing benefits, and is worth trying. Stick with it for 14 days or so, and you will create a habit that will stick.
Japanese Water Therapy is a common reference. Others just call it water therapy, or morning water therapy, but it is something recommended by many Ayurvedic practitioners.
The Japanese have many health traditions, and an excellent attitude to food, and they are one of the healthiest nations in the world. This practice is very traditional and still common today.
How To Do It...
Immediately on rising, drink a glass of water
It MUST be lukewarm, not cold or overly hot water.
It needs to be BEFORE you brush your teeth.
For the best results, no tea or coffee for 45 mins.
Too much water suddenly is never a good thing, and amounts recommended do vary. But looking at many sources, we feel around 200 / 300ml depending on what feels comfortable to you is about right.
The benefits are broad, with some science, but a vast amount of anecdotal positive feedback. And the personal experience of thousands of people, over hundreds of years has excellent validity in our opinion!
Primarily, the reported benefits are for the digestion, skin, headaches, arthrtis, menstrual issues and for those who have a lot of headaches.
We'd love to hear if you implement this and any changes you may experience.
