Acupuncture

Acupuncture originates in China and dates back over 2,000 years.  It is an extremely popular complementary therapy in the UK.    It is a based upon the theory that good health depends upon the movement of Qi through the body in a balanced way; when the body becomes unbalanced and the flow of energy is blocked - a variety of illnesses can occur.    Acupuncture is a holistic therapy in that it focuses on raising the overall well being rather than treating specific symptoms.  An acupuncturist aims to stimulate the body to heal itself and correct the imbalances.

Fine needles are inserted into points located along your body’s meridians.  Treatment times will vary, often with the first session being longer.  Acupuncture can help numerous health conditions.   There has even been a movement by some mainstream doctors and physiotherapists who use some aspects of traditional Acupuncture within their medical practice.
